Congratulations to the winner of our Special Prize in the EPSON International Pano Awards Competition for the Best HDR Panorama: Avi Cohen from Canada!

‘Rice Terraces – Guangxi Province’

‘Along with my friend David, I climbed for over 90 minutes and about 700 steps to get the top of the valley in order to photograph this beautiful landscape. Like a kid in a candy store, I had the opportunity to photograph so many images with endless compositions and close ups. But, most of all I knew I wanted to have an HDR Panoramic of this breathtaking view. For this particular ‘Rice Terraces Guangxi Province’ HDR Pano Image I shot a set of 11 Frames, and bracketed each for the HDR effect. Finally, I assembled it all in Photoshop to have the final results. For equipment I used the following:

Canon DSLR 5D MkII with Canon EF24-105mmm f/4L IS USM, Focal Length: 45.0 mm at 1/30 sec; f/20; ISO 200 with a UV filter mounted on a Manfrotto 055 Carbon Fibre Tripod with Really Right Stuff BH-55 Pro ballhead and Pano Elements Package with screw-knob.’
